Con Neil Patrick Harris como un presentador de poco vuelo, este domingo 22 de febrero se llevó adelante la 87º Entrega de los Premios Oscar, en el Teatro Dolby de Hollywood. La gran ganadora de la noche fue Birdman, que se hizo con algunos de los premios más importantes como fueron el de Mejor Director para Alejandro G. Iñárritu, el de Mejor Película, Mejor Dirección de Fotografía y Guión Original. Boyhood fue la gran perdedora con solo un galardón para Patricia Arquette como Actriz de Reparto y otras que se contaron entre las triunfadoras fueron The Grand Budapest Hotel yWhiplash, con 4 y 3 cada una.
Ya es costumbre hacerse mala sangre con los premiados por la Academia y esta vez no fue la excepción. Con The LEGO Movie injustamente fuera de la carrera, parecía queHow to Train your Dragon 2 se iba a hacer con el Oscar a la Mejor Película Animada, sin embargo Big Hero 6 resultó una de las pocas sorpresas de la noche. Y la reñida competencia entre Boyhood y Birdman se decidió en forma terminante por la segunda, sin un reparto como se pensó que se podría llegar a zanjar el asunto. Y por si eso no fuera suficiente, Relatos Salvajes no logró dar el batacazo y fue Ida el Mejor Film Extranjero, a la vez que Michael Keaton tampoco pudo consagrarse y perdió contraEddie Redmayne.
